Tingersi i capelli di rosa, tatuarsi la Coppa del mondo o lanciarsi con il paracadute nudo: sono solo alcune delle promesse che avevano fatto i giocatori della nazionale spagnola in caso di vittoria del Mondiale, come poi è avvenuto in Sudafrica.

Tra le molte promesse di festeggiamenti con amici e famiglia c'è anche quella di Xavi Hernàndez: «Raparci tutti, compresi i giornalisti». L'autore del gol nella finale contro l'Olanda, Andrès Iniesta, ha assicurato che farà il 'Cammino di Santiago'. La stessa promessa fatta da Fernando Torres.
Reina si farà crescere la barba mentre Arbeloa "non berrà per un anno Coca-Cola".
Xabi Alonso ha invece optato per fare il «giro del mondo», mentre Raùl Albiol si è ripromesso di «imparare l'inglese». Il portiere e capitano della Spagna, Iker Casillas, ha invece preferito non fare promesse, forse per scaramanzia.

La promozione "Locos por el mundial" costerà 1 milione di euro alla catena di supermercati francese Carrefour che accetterà di cambiare i 10 mila buoni da 100 euro distribuiti ai clienti tra il 14 ed il 31 luglio.
La catena di informatica Pc City fara sconti di 80 euro ai propri clienti, una cifra che equivale al numero di gol realizzati dalla seleccion moltiplicato per 10. È lo spagnolo, ma lui preferisce definirsi catalano, 'Jimmy Jump' l'invasore di campo che è riuscito ad entrare in campo percorrendo una cinquantina di metri, al Soccer City pochi attimi prima dell'entrata in campo di Olanda e Spagna.
È stato placcato alla gola, e poi atterrato dagli uomini della sicurezza un attimo prima che riuscisse a prendere la Coppa per alzarla anche lui come aveva fatto poco prima Fabio Cannavaro.
Successivamente è stato portato via dal tunnel dove si trovavano i giocatori, che per far passare l'invasore e le otto persone che lo tenevano fermo si sono dovuti scansare.
'Jimmy Jump' non è certo nuovo ad 'irruzioni’ del genere, in occasione di eventi sportivi e non, visto che è riuscito a farlo anche nell'ultimo festival dell'Eurovisione, al momento dell'esibizione del rappresentante della Spagna. MONDIALI, NON SOLO IL POLPO PAUL, ANCHE IL COCCODRILLO HARRY DICE SPAGNA - WORLD CUP, NOT ONLY OCTOPUS PAUL, CROCODILE HARRY CHOSES SPAIN, TOO

Dopo il polpo Paul arriva il verdetto del coccodrillo Harry. Il predatore di 700 chili che vive nel parco di Darwin in Australia appoggia il polpo, nel pronostico della finale del Mondiale di calcio di Sudafrica 2010, e anche lui dice che vincerà la Spagna contro l'Olanda.

Il coccodrillo ci ha messo meno di minuto per decidere e lanciarsi fuori dell'acqua per mangiare il pollo con appesa la bandiera spagnola piuttosto che quello con la bandiera olandese.

Mick Burns, proprietario del Crocosaurus Cove, ha spiegato che gli è venuta l'idea del pronostico mondiale del coccodrillo dopo aver visto proprio il polpo Paul in Germania centrare i pronostici del Mondiale. L'ormai famoso polpo ha predetto tutti i risultati della Germania, data inoltre vincente nella sfida di questa sera per il terzo posto contro l'Uruguay, ed ha pronosticato che la Spagna vincerà domani sera la Coppa del Mondo.

Ma il coccodrillo Harry ha usato uno stile differente e secondo l'interpretazione di come ha afferrato il povero pollo e di quanto tempo ci ha messo «vuol dire sarà una partita combattuta ed aggressiva e che si chiuderà con il risultato di 1-0 per la Spagna», ha spiegato Burns.
