GERMANIA-SPAGNA IN VATICANO, IL PAPA NON TIFA 'MA SARÀ INFORMATO' - GERMANY-SPAIN IN VATICAN, POPE DOESN'T FOLLOW IT 'BUT HE WILL BE INFORMED'

Benedetto XVI, da oggi in riposo estivo a Castel Gandolfo, non sarà stasera davanti alla tv per Germania-Spagna, ma fonti della sala stampa vaticana assicurano che «sarà informato del risultato».
Mentre in altre sedi vaticane non manca un pò di eccitazione per l'evento. La partita sarà certamente seguita, a Roma, dal segretario di Stato vaticano, card.Tarcisio Bertone, noto appassionato di calcio. Per chi tiferà resta un piccolo mistero. Forse più facilmente per la Germania, non solo perchè paese del Papa, ma anche per gli eccessi di laicismo della Spagna di Zapatero, in questi giorni di nuovo oggetto delle proteste dei vescovi per le nuove norme sull'aborto.
Niente partita nè per il direttore della sala stampa della Santa Sede, padre Federico Lombardi, nè per quello dell'Osservatore Romano, Giovanni Maria Vian, a stento al corrente dell'appuntamento.
Un alto prelato spagnolo confessa, invece, che andrà a vedere la partita in una piccola comunità alla periferia di Roma con diversi sacerdoti spagnoli e alcuni extracomunitari, nel mezzo di una festa a base di paella e sangria. «Confidiamo nell'intercessione di san Fermin», ha detto scherzosamente all'ANSA, ricordando che proprio oggi ricorre la festa del santo, famosa per la corsa dei tori di Pamplona. Nessun imbarazzo a tifare contro la «squadra del Papa»? Nel calcio - aggiunge facendo gli opportuni distinguo - «non ci sono santi».
