Rossi contro Bianchi e Verdi contro Azzurri: sono questi gli accoppiamenti per il torneo del Calcio storico fiorentino effettuati oggi davanti al Duomo di Firenze, poco prima del tradizionale Scoppio del Carro e della messa pasquale celebrata dall'arcivescovo di Firenze monsignor Giuseppe Betori. È stato il presidente del Calcio storico Michele Pierguidi, assistito dall'assessore allo sport del Comune di Firenze Eugenio Giani a estrarre dal cappello le uova colorate per gli accoppiamenti. Il calcio storico fiorentino, reso celebre nel Rinascimento per la partecipazione di giocatori come Lorenzo e Cosimo dè Medici e di molti papi (da Clemente VII a Leone XI fino a Urbano VII), è stato reintrodotto nel 2008 dopo due anni di sospensione per i pestaggi che si verificavano in campo. La prima partita tra Rossi e Bianchi si terrà il 12 giugno e la seconda il giorno dopo. La finale è prevista il 24 giugno. Le 'Insegnè, ovvero il titolo, sono detenute dai Rossi.
