ITALIA: PAURA DELL'AEREO, CALCIATORE FA MILLE CHILOMETRI IN AUTO - ITALY: FEAR OF FLYING, FOR PLAYER A THOUSAND MILES BY CAR

Ha paura di prendere l'aereo ma pur di essere in campo nella gara di campionato (Seconda divisione di Lega Pro) a Milazzo, l'attaccante del Perugia Giampiero Clemente si è sobbarcato il viaggio in auto di oltre mille chilometri, dall'Umbria alla Sicilia, mentre i compagni hanno utilizzato un volo.
«Certamente questo viaggio non lo agevola - ha spiegato l'allenatore del Perugia Pierfrancesco Battistini - ma è stato lui stesso a fare questa scelta e lo abbiamo assecondato, permettendogli di viaggiare insieme al nostro magazziniere».
«Per i giocatori l'aspetto psicologico è importante e quindi, avremo in campo un giocatore forse meno brillante sul piano fisico, ma certamente più sereno dal punto di vista mentale», ha aggiunto.
Il match è terminato 0-0 col calciatore in campo per tutti i 90 minuti. A fine gara Clemente è risalito in auto per il viaggio di ritorno verso Perugia, mentre la squadra è rientrata ancora in aereo.


He's afraid of flying but just to be on the pitch in the championship match (Pro League Second Division) in Milazzo, Perugia striker Giampiero Clemente shouldered the trip by car over a thousand kilometers from Umbria to Sicily, while his team-mates  used a flight.
"Certainly this trip won't help him - said Perugia coach Pierfrancesco Battistini  - but he took this choice and we have gone along, allowing them to travel together to our warehouse".
"For players the psychological aspect is important and therefore we have a player on the pitch, perhaps less brilliant on the physical plane, but certainly more relaxed in terms of mental" he added.
The match ended 0-0 with the player on the pitch for 90 minutes. At the end of the game Clemente got back in the car for the journey back to Perugia, while the team still returned by plane.
