Per rendere omaggio al continente che ospita i Mondiali di calcio, un ristorante di Phoenix, nello stato americano dell'Arizona, ha inserito nel menu anche un hamburger a base di leone.
Cameron Selogie, la proprietaria del locale dal nome italianissimo di 'Vinaio', ha detto che negli Usa consumare carne di animali esotici è perfettamente legale e, secondo vari media online, lo stesso ha confermato un portavoce del ministero dell'agricoltura.
Gli animalisti non hanno però gradito e al ristorante è già arrivata una telefonata minatoria in cui si minacciava di far saltare tutto in aria con una bomba e valanghe di e-mail di protesta condite di improperi vari.
Il leone servito al 'Vinaio' è di allevamento e non proviene da una battuta di caccia grossa in Africa. Servito con contorno di patatine fritte e una pannocchia di mais alla piastra, è prezzato 21 dollari (17 euro).


To pay homage to the continent which hosts the World Cup, a restaurant in Phoenix in the U.S. state of Arizona, has introduced a burger on the menu-based lion.
Cameron Selogie, the owner of the premises by the very Italian name of 'Vinaio', said that U.S. consumption of exotic animals meat is perfectly legal and, according to various media online, the same has confirmed a spokesman for the Ministry of Agriculture.
But animal rights activists do not consider it acceptable and the restaurant has already received a threatening phone call in which they threatened to blow up everything in the air with a bomb and avalanche of emails of protest seasoned with various insults.
Lion served in 'Vinaio' is not from a farming and doesn't come from hunting in Africa. Served with french fries and corn on the grill, is priced for $ 21 (17 euros).
