Spiacevole incidente, per fortuna senza conseguenze, per il terzino destro portoghese del Valencia, Miguel Monteiro, che ha investito due anziane mentre con la sua auto si dirigeva all'allenamento della sua squadra da Valencia alla zona periferica di Paterna. Le due donne sono state ricoverate con ferite lievi mentre il giocatore si è detto molto colpito dall'accaduto: «Sono preoccupato, ma è stato un incidente che non ho potuto evitare. Ora andrò a scusarmi personalmente con le due donne per quanto successo». Miguel, che non ha riportato danni dall'incidente, dovrebbe scendere in campo nel prossimo match, contro lo Xerez. Il Valencia attualmente è terzo in classifica nella Liga spagnola.
