Il segreto per parare i calci di rigore? Semplice, vestire di rosso. Questo sostiene Iain Greenlees, psicologo dello sport all’Università di Chichester, che l’ha sperimentata su un singolo portiere, bersaglio per una settimana dei tiri dal dischetto di 40 giocatori. L’estremo difensore si è cambiato la maglietta quattro volte e quando ha indossato quella rossa è riuscito a prendere il minor numero di reti (54%) rispetto a quando era vestito di giallo (69%), blu (72%) e verde (75%). “In situazioni di stress, le persone possono farsi facilmente distrarre da stimoli cosiddetti minacciosi, come, appunto, il colore – ha spiegato Greenlees al Times - e il rosso è associato da sempre al pericolo e alla rabbia”. Si puo' correre ai rimedi allora per le divise nazionali? “È troppo tardi per cambiare" – ha concluso lo psicologo – ma si dovrebbe pensare a integrare qualcosa di colore rosso nella divisa del portiere, come per esempio nei guanti o negli scarpini”.
