Mondiali di calcio con un progetto da quattro miliardi di dollari. Lo sceicco Mohammed bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani ha annunciato ieri, per conto del comitato promotore, che il Qatar intende candidarsi all'organizzazione della Coppa del Mondo del 2022 con un progetto che prevede la costruzione di nove stadi nuovi di zecca e migliorie ad altri tre impianti già esistenti. Tutti gli stadi saranno muniti di sistemi di aerazione e raffreddamento, alimentati da pannelli solari, per annullare le torride temperature del deserto portando il microclima dei Mondiali a 27 gradi. Due degli stadi progettati e presentati oggi, in particolare, saranno ispirati alle forme di una conchiglia e del dhow, una caratteristica barca a vela mediorientale.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani announced yesterday on behalf of the organizing committee, that Qatar intends to stand in organizing the World Cup in 2022 with a project that involves construction of nine brand new stadiums and other improvements to three existing plants. All the stadiums will be equipped with ventilation systems and cooling powered by solar panels, to cancel the hot temperatures of the desert bringing the microclimate of the World Cup to 27 degrees.
